Double Bridge
:
|
 |
|
Double
Bridege has long been loved by Japanese people as one of the most symbolic sites in the Imperial Palace.
The bridge in front is "the front stone bridge" and the one behind is "the front iron bridge".
Generally speaking, "Double Bridge" refers to these "two bridges", but historically, it is "the one behind".
The name of the bridge derives from its "double structure".

Shrine (Meiji Jingu) :
|
|
 |

We will start off with Meiji Shrine. This is a Shinto shrine
dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his
consort, Empress Shoken. Surrounded by great nature, it
is a kind of oasis in the center of the metropolis. Many
Shinto ceremony weddings take place in the main hall. You
may see a procession of a wedding party around the main
building! Tour lasts approximately one and half hour. We maintain a moderate walking
pace, stopping at various sites along the tour.
